About the project
Blueprint explores a unique and entertaining fusion of hip hop & contemporary dance. Graduates of the NZ School of Dance & well known to hip hop communities worldwide, Blueprint was originally choreographed and performed by Toa Paranihi and Connor Masseurs. The show premiered in the Wellington Fringe in 2018 and has been seen in Wellington, Auckland, San Diego & Tijuana.
A show exposing the relationship between an artist/s and their art while finding self-confidence within your own internal and external identity as a Maori and Pasifika Male. Blueprint not only pushes the “traditional” structure of how dance can be perceived but is a throughway for audiences to recognize that contemporary dance can be fun, unique and explorative outside of the traditional confinements. Straying away from the “art” of contemporary dance and instead encouraging a playfulness, strength, and personality is important to our team.
